Suunto X9i

The Suunto X9i watch is the smallest and lightest GPS combination watch in the world. This watch is one of the best equipped ever made. It comes with an altimeter and a compass. It also includes a barometer (to help know the weather changes coming) and the extremely accurate watch seems like a bonus in this package.

Navigation with the GPS is especially easy with the X9i since it comes with a 'mark home' and a 'find home' feature. With these, you can always find your way back home. The GPS is extremely accurate since it includes 12 channel reception and a sensitive loop antenna.

It comes with enough memory to store up to 50 routes (and/or 500 different way points too) along with 8000 trackpoints (that is not a typo, 8000).

Taking it to the next level, the Suunto X9i watch can be connected to your PC along with digital computer mapping software programs. A few of the most popular programs the X9i is compatible with are the National Geographic Topograph maps, the Fugawi program and Memory maps too. You can plan your trips in advance or use it to record your journey along the way. When back, you can upload the data from the watch for analysis or to help your friends understand why the trip was so cool!
